EARN EXTRA INCOME WITHOUT LOSING YOUR GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE
The Skill Trip program is brought to you from the Access2Innovate Foundation thanks to the BC Workplace Grant Program. The purpose of this program is to make a positive impact to vulnerable British Columbians facing employment challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic.

THE FOUNDATION
We help reduce the barriers to quality science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) education for people facing socio-economic, physical, mental, and other challenges. The Skill Trip Program is exclusively for adults, where we work in cooperation with schools to provide free or subsidized access to high quality STEAM education .
During Covid-19, we provided free online classes to children and youth and free face shields and masks to not-for-profit organizations working on the front lines.
Helping provide access to STEAM education for kids, youth, and adults facing barriers
We received a Workplace Opportunity Grant to give skills training for vulnerable British Columbians impacted by Covid-19.

Am I Eligible?
Anyone receiving B.C. income or disability assistance is qualified, with the exception of WorkBC Wage Subsidy recipients and current employees in their existing position.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Access2Innovate grants adults the opportunity to start a new journey. Through the Skill Trip Program, they can learn and get exposure to useful STEM/STEAM tools that open new opportunities for them and their families.
The skill areas available include: digital media, marketing and office admin, procurement and research, education, manufacturing, and fabrication, improving their employability. Skill Trip is a hands-on work opportunity, with participants picking one or two areas of interest to focus on during their program.
Participants come in twice/week for the day during the 12 week program. Each area of interest is guided by a mentor and a job supervisor.
